A leading coffee and dairy producer in Indonesia generates a significant amount of Rice Husk Ash (RHA) as a by-product of its biomass energy system. With increasing production capacity, the company faced growing pressure to manage RHA in a clean, compliant, and reusable manner.
To support environmental compliance and material reuse, Bidragon was selected to provide a multi-silo storage and conveying solution specifically designed for the physical characteristics of rice husk ash.

Storage Material: Rice Husk Ash (RHA)
Bulk Density: Lightweight, fine powder, high silica content
Total Storage Capacity: 4 steel silos (cluster layout)
Silo Type: Chip storage silos with integrated discharge systems
Application: Temporary storage and controlled discharge for reuse as industrial raw material

Silo No.1: Installed and commissioned on site
Silo No.2: Manufactured and shipped
Silo No.3 & No.4: In production and scheduled for phased delivery
The system is designed to operate in stages, allowing the client to expand storage capacity while keeping production uninterrupted.
RHA is conveyed from the biomass combustion unit to the silos through a fully enclosed conveying system, preventing dust leakage and secondary pollution. Once stored, the ash is discharged in a controlled manner and supplied to downstream users, including cement producers, tire manufacturers, and agricultural fertilizer companies.
This approach allows the client to convert a former waste stream into a reusable material while maintaining a clean production environment.
Rice husk ash is extremely fine and prone to airborne dispersion.
Bidragon silos are equipped with:
High-performance sealing systems
Enclosed inlets and outlets
Integrated dust control interfaces
This ensures compliance with local Indonesian environmental regulations and improves on-site working conditions.
RHA contains a high percentage of silica, which can be abrasive over time.
To address this, the silos feature:
Reinforced wear-resistant steel plates or internal coatings
Optimized flow zones to reduce localized wear
This design significantly extends service life and reduces maintenance frequency.
Due to its low bulk density and poor flowability, RHA can easily form bridges or blockages.
The system includes:
Fluidization or bin activation devices
Optimized hopper geometry
These features ensure stable, continuous discharge without manual intervention.
To match the silo performance, the conveying system was designed with the following priorities:
Fully enclosed structure to eliminate dust emissions
Heat-resistant components, suitable for ash discharged at elevated temperatures
PLC integration for automated operation and monitoring
Low energy consumption, supporting overall efficiency goals
The result is a coordinated storage and conveying system that operates safely, cleanly, and efficiently.
Bidragon provides more than silo equipment. For this project, we delivered a turnkey solution, including:
Engineering design based on RHA material properties
Customized silo configuration for phased installation
Manufacturing under ISO-compliant quality control
On-site installation guidance and commissioning support
With extensive experience in ash, biomass by-products, and bulk powder handling, Bidragon helps clients implement practical and reliable storage systems worldwide.
This project supports the client’s long-term sustainability goals by enabling clean storage, controlled handling, and material reuse of rice husk ash. As additional silos come online, the system will continue to scale with production demand.
